Would you like to join a team focused on solving the technical challenges of Apple’s future products? We are the Apple Reliability Lab team, and we support Reliability and Product Development Engineers in testing the durability and longevity of Apple’s prototype hardware designs. This role will support all materials testing, with a focus on cosmetic as well as functional failures.
As a Reliability Test Engineer, you’ll utilize your collaborative and comprehensive skills and experience to evaluate new materials in a variety of scenarios that simulate real-world use such as staining from food and discoloration due to sunlight exposure. You will set up test equipment and fixtures, collect data, and analyze results.
- Perform Reliability tests on material plaques or full systems to determine durability and resistance to staining, corrosion and other cosmetic and functional failures.
- Document test results through photography and with the use of specialized tools such as spectrophotometers.
- Summarize and present results to Reliability Engineers who will use your data to inform design decisions.
- Manage multiple fast-paced projects with large volumes and challenging deadlines.
