Claris is seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to help build and grow the Claris integration and AI-Powered product lines. This is an opportunity for a self-starter who is energized by identifying real business problems, crafting professional business cases, and presenting compelling value propositions to decision makers. This role combines problem solving, relationship building, and direct enterprise sales execution.
You will have a proven track record of managing enterprise sales cycles while building and nurturing strategic business partner relationships that create mutual value and competitive advantage. You will be responsible for executing go-to-market motions for Claris Connect — the Claris data integration platform used by K-12 schools to connect student roster systems with Apple School Manager. You will be working with strategic Claris partners to deploy Claris AI-powered product lines within key accounts. You will develop industry-specific business cases, build and present live demos to the C-Suite, and cultivate the kind of trusted relationships that create long-term value across the Apple and partner ecosystems.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities for both products across education, government, and enterprise markets
- Develop vertical-specific use cases, demos, and ROI narratives tailored to CIOs, CFOs, COOs, and other executive buyers — with minimal support from engineering or product teams
- Drive pipeline from first conversation through close, managing complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Identify new industries and customer segments where Claris addresses a genuine and urgent pain point, and build the internal business case for entering them
- Represent Claris at industry conferences and summits, including presenting to large audiences on behalf of the platform
- Cultivate and maintain a strong network across Apple's education, enterprise, and partner-facing divisions
- 5+ years of business development or enterprise software sales experience
- Demonstrated experience working within at least two of the following three markets: K-12 or higher education, government, enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to present to large audiences and C-suite executives with confidence and credibility
- Technical fluency sufficient to carry a substantive conversation with a CIO and their technical staff, and to build working demos and use cases independently
- Strong discovery skills — the ability to identify business problems and connect these problems to a solution in a way that creates urgency
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, field team engagements, and industry events
- 7+ years of business development or enterprise software sales experience, with a consistent track record of exceeding targets
- Deep expertise across two or more of the following markets: K-12 education, higher education, government, or enterprise
- Proven ability to command large audiences and C-suite conversations with executive-level credibility and polish
- Strong technical fluency — comfortable holding substantive conversations with CIOs and their teams, and capable of independently building working demos and use cases
- Exceptional discovery instincts — able to uncover business problems and frame solutions in ways that create genuine urgency
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for travel to support customer meetings, field engagements, and industry events
