Position Description:

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise‑level and cloud‑based systems that support federal mission needs. This role requires strong technical leadership in system architecture, data engineering, and secure system integration, with an emphasis on implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls, API integration, and data-driven solutions.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance system architecture baselines to support scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise environments.
• Integrate Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles into system design and operations, ensuring alignment with federal security and compliance standards.
• Lead system, service, and API integration activities, ensuring seamless interoperability across applications and environments.
• Support data engineering workflows including ETL processes, data transformation, and data quality management.
• Develop and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and analytics solutions to support operational, engineering, and mission decision-making.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise systems and cloud solutions, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot system issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with cybersecurity, development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive system design and implementation.
• Participate in system modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, and architectural improvements.
• Produce technical documentation, system diagrams, and engineering artifacts to support governance, audits, and lifecycle management.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience designing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise systems and cloud-based environments.
• Experience with architecture baselines, secure system design, and RMF integration.
• Hands-on experience with system and API integration in complex IT environments.
• Experience supporting ETL processes, data engineering activities, and creating data visualizations or analytics solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise system management, cloud architecture principles, and operational best practices.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
