Technical Project Manager
IT, Operations
Richmond, VA, USA
USD 89,600-156,700 / year
Position Description:
We are seeking a Project Manager to support a complex, multi-workstream technology integration program.
The ideal candidate is an experienced PM who knows when to lead and when to listen, equally comfortable in a room with non-technical business leaders as with engineers and vendors. The ability to translate complexity into clarity is essential, helping stakeholders who have never been through an enterprise system rollout understand what is happening, what is coming, and what is being asked of them. The right candidate moves the project forward without creating pressure and reads the room well enough to know the difference.
This is not a traditional Agile engagement and does not call for a rigid PMO approach. We need someone with a continuous improvement mindset, strong organizational instincts, and the flexibility to adapt the methodology to the moment. This role owns project tracking, documentation, and communication infrastructure, designing lightweight toolsets that deliver the right information to the right people with minimal friction.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Manage and coordinate a complex technology integration program involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and vendors.
. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reporting, risk logs, issue tracking, and project documentation.
. Facilitate communication between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and clarity across all stakeholder groups.
. Translate technical concepts, project milestones, and implementation impacts into language that is accessible to non-technical audiences.
. Design and maintain practical project tracking and reporting tools that support informed decision-making without creating unnecessary administrative overhead.
. Lead project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communications while fostering collaboration and accountability.
. Identify project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks and work proactively with teams to develop mitigation strategies.
. Support process mapping, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the program lifecycle.
. Coordinate activities related to enterprise technology integrations, infrastructure transitions, network migrations, and Microsoft tenant environments.
Ensure project documentation remains accurate, organized, and readily accessible to stakeholders.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Proven experience managing technology or infrastructure integration projects
. Exceptional communication skills with non-technical audiences — clear, guided, and supportive
. Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement mindset
. Strong documentation and organizational discipline
. Proficient in Microsoft O365 — Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
. Ability to design and manage project tracking toolsets tailored to the team
. Flexible, pragmatic approach to project management
. Process mapping and design experience
. Familiarity with enterprise IT integration, network migrations, or Microsoft tenant environments
