Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support the verification, inspection, and quality control processes required to ensure that systems, components, and products meet established technical, regulatory, and program standards for a Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program for the US Army. This role performs inspections, coordinates testing activities, investigates failures, and provides critical quality data that supports both engineering and compliance requirements. The Quality Assurance Technician works closely with test engineers, production teams, and other technical functions to ensure quality issues are identified early, resolved effectively, and prevented from recurring. This role is essential for maintaining system reliability and mission readiness throughout the NGC2 modernization effort.
This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Product Inspection & Verification
. Perform visual inspections of finished products and components
. Verify conformance to specifications, standards, and documented requirements
. Document inspection results and ensure traceability of quality data
Troubleshooting & Problem Identification
. Identify and diagnose equipment or product defects
. Assist in determining root causes of out of specification (OOS) conditions
. Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Quality Control Coordination
. Serve as a liaison between quality control and other departments including engineering, test, and production
. Coordinate quality related activities and testing with Test Engineers
. Communicate findings and discrepancies to responsible technical teams
Testing Oversight & Support
. Monitor testing procedures to ensure compliance with item specifications, standard test methods, and protocols
. Support test setup, execution, and documentation in collaboration with Test Engineers
. Review test results for accuracy and completeness
Regulatory & Documentation Support
. Supply quality control data needed for audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements
. Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing activities, and equipment evaluations
. Ensure all documentation meets quality assurance standards and program requirements
Corrective Action & Failure Investigation
. Participate in failure investigations and discrepancy reviews
. Support development of corrective action plans and process improvements
. Track and verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions
Safety & Compliance
. Support safety and cleanliness of quality assurance work areas
. Comply with organizational safety, quality, and environmental practices
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Education
. AA/AS degree from an accredited college OR
. Graduation from a 2 year technical school with certification in a relevant field
Experience
. 5+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance or quality control within a Defense environment
. Experience performing inspections, overseeing testing, and supporting quality assurance processes
Technical Skills
. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test standards
. Knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection methods, standards, and documentation practices
. Familiarity with failure analysis, non conformance reporting, and corrective action processes
. Understanding of standard test methods and regulatory compliance requirements
Abilities & Work Style
. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection documentation
. Ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams and departments
. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
. Ability to identify issues early and support timely resolution
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Advanced Quality Skills
. Experience supporting quality processes for electronics, mechanical assemblies, or integrated systems
. Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or similar quality management standards
. Experience with QA software tools or digital inspection systems
Certifications
. ASQ certifications (CQI, CQA, CQE)
. IPC inspection certifications (if electronics related)
Additional Skills
. Ability to support audits, readiness reviews, or compliance assessments
. Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto)
. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) or quality metrics

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $51,600.00 $110,100.00.
