Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in developing camera test solutions at module or system level to verify any of the following: electrical, mechanical, power consumption or thermal performance.
- Experience with scripting and/or programming language (PowerShell, C#, C++, Python, etc.).
- Experience in writing test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ year(s) technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience communicating and collaborating effectively, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.
- Working experience with high-speed electrical interfaces (MIPI and USB 2.0/3.0), and low-speed serial control interfaces (I2C and SPI) to ensure camera signal quality and stability.
- Experience in schematic and board layout review, as well as an understanding of PCB layout principles, including high speed signal integrity, power integrity, de-sense, DFM, etc.
Electrical Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive camera design verification strategies and plans bridging high-level customer experience use cases to product architecture/design to effectively and systematically reveal and verify design and production defects.
- Provide critical analysis of test data and drive the right solutions, design changes, and trade-offs in the context of business priorities.
- Create and introduce innovative test techniques and methods to ensure robust product qualification.
- Utilize your knowledge of critical performance data and your statistical data analysis techniques to set product test requirements and limits.
- Develop test methodologies and plans, execute test procedures, debug/bring-up and project-manage qualification cycles. Improves work based on insights and lessons learned related to camera quality and minimizing issues in current and future projects.
- Work closely with camera hardware, Image Quality and software engineers, product managers, module suppliers, manufacturing test and reliability to ensure end customer delight with Surface camera experiences. Contributes to work with partner teams to support the application of testing plans and methodologies across groups.
- Identify critical performance metrics and apply statistical data analysis techniques to define manufacturing test requirements and limits related to camera signal quality.
