The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, an organization within CE&S, is leading the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovation solutions that accelerate business value, drive operational excellence and nurture long term loyalty.

The Content Program Manager - Customer Success Stories plays a critical role in driving strategic newsletter initiatives and managing editorial calendars for Viva content, supporting customer success and readiness across GCS and CSU. This role ensures that newsletter and editorial programs are tightly aligned with organizational priorities, delivering impactful, audience-focused communications, and bridging strategy with execution through robust cross-functional collaboration.


In addition to core responsibilities, this position leads and supports key strategic programs—like High Five the Go Live - by designing and managing newsletter content and editorial schedules to strengthen employee and customer adoption and loyalty. The Content Program Manager is accountable for developing and maintaining editorial calendars for Viva content, ensuring consistent messaging, measurable outcomes, and comprehensive tracking of content metrics to evaluate impact and optimize future communications, all in alignment with Microsoft’s customer success vision.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning
• Develop and execute strategic content plans aligned with GCS priorities and CE&S objectives.
Program Management
• Manage multiple projects across the content lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with engineering, product, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver integrated content experiences.
Audience Engagement
• Cultivate audiences across platforms (e.g., social, learning portals) to maximize reach and impact.
Governance & Compliance
• Ensure content adheres to Microsoft brand, accessibility, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or experience in a writing or editing role
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Communications, Business, Instructional Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or experience in a writing or editing role
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Communications, Business, Instructional Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or experience in a writing or editing role
    • OR equivalent experience.5+ years recent experience with knowledge management and/or digital publishing modalities (e.g., Web, social media, in-product, training).
  • 1+ year(s) experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.


Content Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
