Job Overview
The Principal Product Manager, Technical within T-Mobile’s Data & AI organization is a visionary, strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, respected leader of business and technology execution, and professional relationship builder—all rolled into a single dynamic package. This role is instrumental in advancing T-Mobile’s data monetization strategy, with a strong focus on leveraging 1st-party data assets and AI-driven innovation to create high-impact data products for both internal business units and external customers. The Principal Product Manager is ultimately accountable for discovering and delivering opportunities that lie at the intersection of customer needs, technical feasibility, AI-driven capabilities, and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in product management within data platforms or AI/ML-driven systems, and a proven track record to work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, privacy, legal, sales, and go-to-market teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Vision, Strategy, and Analysis

  • Leads the end-to-end product lifecycle for advanced data and AI-powered solutions with significant complexity and enterprise impact—particularly those monetizing T-Mobile's 1st-party data assets.
  • Develops and maintains a strategic product vision and strategy aligned with Data & AI initiatives, including AI-driven personalization, predictive analytics, and customer intelligence capabilities.
  • Leads user and stakeholder research to identify new monetization and innovation opportunities within internal and external data use cases.
  • Uses quantitative and qualitative data to assess opportunity size, uncover root causes, and inform product decisions—often partnering with data scientists to extract deeper insights using AI/ML methods.
  • ·Monitors industry and emerging AI/ML trends, evaluating their relevance to T-Mobile’s evolving data product portfolio.
  • Engages with ecosystem partners to evaluate data licensing, AI partnerships, and third-party enrichment strategies.

Product Execution & Technical Delivery

  • Leads translation of complex data strategies into product requirements, epics, and user stories optimized for high-velocity Agile teams—frequently building prototypes for advanced AI and data experiences.
  • Partners closely with Data Engineering, MLOps, Platform Architecture, and Product Owners to ensure scalable, performant delivery of AI-powered services.
  • Tracks and reports on KPIs and OKRs related to product adoption, data monetization performance, AI model health, and operational uptime.
  • Owns release planning, customer onboarding, and go-to-market strategy for new AI and data capabilities, working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, privacy, and customer success.
  • Supports production monitoring and escalation processes to ensure reliability of AI models and data products in real-world scenarios, especially for high-impact defects or customer-facing incidents.
  • Drives internal enablement and adoption through the creation of training materials, operational playbooks, and stakeholder documentation.
  • Promotes and embeds core agile and lean product development practices, including CICD, DevOps for AI (MLOps), iterative delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience. (Required)
  • 8+ years’ experience in hands on technical role writing production code, solution engineering, or technical archtecture in large scale company / appplication / product environment. Required
  • More than 10 years Relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. Required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Business Operations Demonstrates complete proficiency in business side skills (communication, customer research, product vision, feature definition), as well as technical architecture, Dev, and execution skills. (Required)
  • Business Analysis Proven analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data and use the data to drive decisions. (Required)
  • Customer Experience Management Mastery level (industry leading) understanding of customer experience. (Required)
  • Technology Mastery level understanding of platform technologies and components such as security, performance, optimization, API integration.
  • Expert level knowledge of full technology stack on which your assigned product runs. (Required)
  • Agile Methodologies Proven success in directing matrixed resources and delivering software, with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools, across multiple teams. (Required)
  • Technical Writing Mastery of requirements elicitation, and writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences. (Required)
  • Agile Project Management Mastery of requirements elicitation, and concise, clear writing skills for different audiences. (Required)
  • Teamwork Experience with successive elaboration and ability to develop Initiatives, Features and User Stories that the DevOps teams can ingest. (Required)
  • Product Management Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives as Product Manager or lead technology role. (Required)
  • Communication Validated ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, technical and non-technical audiences while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and non-technical leaders. (Required)
  • SQL Fluent with SQL, Tableau, other analytical solutions like SAS, SPSS. (Required)
  • Tableau Fluent with SQL, Tableau, other analytical solutions like SAS, SPSS. (Required)
  • Integration Knowledge and experience with integration patterns, API’s, and protocols such as REST, EDI, SOAP, etc. (Required)
  • DevOps Mastery of DevOps (CI / CT / CD) and application of CI/CT/CD in Agile environment. (Required)


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) (Preferred)
  • Other Technical Certification Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $139,700 - $252,000

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
