As a Web Developer with Purdue University’s award-winning in-house marketing agency, Purdue Brand Studio, you will help advance Purdue’s digital presence through technical expertise and innovative web solutions.

This professional contributor is responsible for helping develop and maintain university websites, ensuring they are accessible, responsive and aligned with Purdue’s master brand platform. You will bring creativity and technical skill to every project, helping manage or build user-centered digital experiences that connect with audiences across multiple platforms and devices.

This role requires knowledge and skills in web programming languages like PHP, HTML5, and CSS3. The ideal candidate will have experience in content management systems (CMS) like WordPress and Cascade and an understanding of responsive, adaptive and accessible design.

The Web Developer will work closely with website content managers and web designers, as well as on cross-functional teams with project managers, marketing strategists and copywriters. This role must be detail-oriented and have strong time management skills to work efficiently alongside other team members.

This position is a hybrid role that requires travel (up to 25%) to campus and external locations for work-related assignments and team meetings as necessary.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a corresponding field related to computer science
  • Two (2) years’ web content and/or web programming experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development technologies.
  • Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools like React, Angular, Vue.js, Git, and Node.js.
  • Experience with web content management systems (CMS) and platforms such as WordPress and Cascade.
  • Team coordination experience in a business environment.
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
  • Familiarity with web standards, browser performance, and brand consistency across web properties.
