What you’ll be doing...

This role is a senior-level position on the National Consumer Unit Communications team. The individual in this role will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of integrated communications plans for Verizon’s mobile and home value proposition, ensuring consistent and impactful coverage in national, trade, consumer lifestyle, tech and business outlets. In this role, you will shape the narratives that differentiate Verizon in a competitive marketplace, strengthen our brand reputation, build loyalty among customers and prospects, and drive consumer business results. The role requires deep experience in tech and the competitive landscape, with the ability to anticipate and react quickly to the competition.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies for national, consumer-led value propositions for mobile/home with a focus on home

  • Driving media relations strategy on a proactive and reactive basis in support of consumer priorities and offers

  • Monitoring and analyzing the competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for communication differentiation

  • Leading and/or supporting priority campaigns for consumer in collaboration with network, corporate, CMO, local, segment and employee comms

  • Building and managing deep relationships with press, influencers and key opinion leaders to enhance Verizon’s voice in the marketplace

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with influential audiences, including external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders

  • Driving cross-functional collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to all campaigns and launches and maximize impact

  • Managing communications agency partners to create and execute plans that drive business results

  • Helping to protect the Verizon brand by identifying and mitigating reputational risk

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience working on complex product launches

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering consistently high-quality work

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with the press

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Willingness to travel

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience

Even better if you have one of more of the following:

  • A background in consumer products, tech or marketing

  • Strong relationships with reporters

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more.
