Technology Strategy, Global Infrastructure & App Security (TSGI) is looking for an innovative and driven leader with a passion for Cybersecurity and Technology. This role will support Network, Infrastructure & Cloud Security Governance, specifically for our Verizon Global Service (VGS) Enterprise Network. This role will partner and work closely with key cross-functional stakeholders, like Verizon Cybersecurity (VCS), Global Network & Technology (GNT) Network Security, and our VGS Enterprise Network teams, in order to protect our network and align on proactive security measures to effectively mitigate risks, enable safe digital transformation, and defend against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
What we’re looking for...
Supporting the day-to-day operations; this involves engaging both internal and external stakeholders, at times utilizing a dotted-line leadership approach
Capturing stakeholder feedback on design reviews and updating security-based metrics for Network, Infrastructure and Cloud Security Governance reporting dashboards, scorecards, and maturity models; this includes creating and maintaining action plans jointly shared with all stakeholders to ensure remediation or resolution of task(s)
Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and track gaps and process improvements in order to enhance security protections and improve cybersecurity maturity
Supporting transformation of Security by Design and Zero Trust principles for Network, Infrastructure, and Cloud Governance models
Ensuring effectiveness and coverage of the Security Policies and Controls of VGS Network, Infrastructure and Cloud governance; this includes prioritizing by risk level
Supporting awareness, training & compliance programs focused on Network Cybersecurity practices; this will require leveraging the Mavens program, a team of security professionals who facilitate adoption of security by design
Ensuring all project artifacts and communications are easily accessible and well-maintained; this includes proficiency in utilizing project management tools and methodologies to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency
Coordinating necessary activities with our Verizon CyberSecurity teams; to include but not limited to Active Defense and Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Red team and Threat Hunt campaigns, as well as Tabletop Exercises when necessary
Reviewing outcomes of root cause analysis, compliance audits, and lessons learned to ensure repeatable and sustainable processes are established, followed or adjusted when necessary
Assisting with internal audit reviews. This includes producing and presenting artifacts and executive summaries to support the overall team’s mission
Helping to design and produce executive-level operational read-outs, metrics, and project statuses that accurately capture the effectiveness of our team’s mission
Executing short-term strategies goals and ensuring proper updates are socialized to appropriate stakeholders; this requires cross-functional collaboration and relationship building to also achieve wider, organizational strategic goals
Promoting an environment of collaboration and individual accountability when it comes to problem-solving, decision-making, and process improvements
You’ll need to have:
Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Two or more years of experience in Information Security, Technology or Technical Risk Analysis.
Two or more years of experience with assessing existing controls, policies, procedures, and technologies to understand the organization's current security posture.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, network defense, and investigative frameworks (such as NIST CSF, ISO 27000 series, MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain, etc.) into network defense processes
High-level understanding of Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, OCI) and Operating Systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, and OSX)
Experience with data analytical tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Hadoop
Understanding on how to develop and configure dashboards and visualizations with tools like Grafana.
Expertise with scripting and programming (i.e. Python) for automation of data parsing, API interactions, and custom tool development.
Strong database skills such as SQL for querying, analyzing, and managing large databases
Experience in creating, modifying, and executing Ansible playbooks for automation, configuration management, and orchestration of security deployments across diverse network devices and servers.
Certifications like: Network+, Security+, CISSP or CISM
